What is Perennial Peanut?


Regenerative Ground-cover

Golden Glory Perennial Peanut is a no-mow, ornamental ground-cover as well as a forage crop for grazing animals and poultry. 

Affordable Nitrogen-fixing Ground Cover

Adds nitrogen to the soil, plants and trees–improves plant and tree growth and decreases fertilizer reliance

Drought Tolerant

Grows great in sun and well in shade; no irrigation needed after establishment for locations that rain 40+ inches annually. Agriculture zones 9-11

Vigorous Growth

Reduces soil erosion and grows excellently on berms, hillsides, gardens, lawns, and pasture at sea level to 5000 foot elevation.

Minimal Carbon Footprint

No additional fertilizers or mowing needed.

Regenerative Agriculture

No-mow, self-propagating ground-cover. Stolons may be harvested after several months of growth and planted in new areas. No care needed after establishment.

Stolons

Perennial Peanut Stolons

Perennial Peanut Bulk Stolons (mini-plants) sold by the pound–freshly harvested day of pick up, and ready to plant for $ 0.67 per square foot. Stolons are the best choice for the cost, however, they require daily water, a bit of organic material to cover after planting, and your attention for the first couple weeks until established. Best results are same or next day planting. Minimum order is 20 pounds for $100–this covers approximately 150 sq. feet.

Customers bring plastic tote or heavy – duty trash bags to transport wet stolons.

1-gallon Pots

Perennial Peanut in 1-gallon pots are extremely hardy and have a solid root ball. One-gallon plants are ready to plant and need minimal water as their root-ball is established. Pots are $5 each with a minimum order of 20. Coverage varies as the stolons from our pots span 2-3 feet.
